Terms of Service
Effective date: January 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Meme Court (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Meme Court Is (and Isn’t)
Meme Court is a community-driven, on-chain themed dispute and voting platform. Users can submit “cases,” attach evidence links, and vote on outcomes.
Meme Court is not a court of law. Nothing on the Service is legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for professional counsel. Outcomes are community opinions and are for entertainment and informational purposes.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a legally binding contract where you live and comply with applicable laws. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction.
3. Wallets, On-Chain Activity, and Risk
The Service integrates with third-party wallets and the Solana blockchain. You are solely responsible for your wallet security, private keys, approvals, and transactions.
Blockchain transactions are typically irreversible. We do not control the Solana network, validators, RPC providers, or wallet providers, and we cannot guarantee transaction confirmation, speed, or finality.
You assume all blockchain risk including network congestion, fees, failed transactions, forks, wallet bugs, smart contract or dependency issues, and loss of funds.
4. Filing Deposits, Fees, and Refund Policy
Filing a case may require a deposit (e.g., 0.05 SOL) as an anti-spam mechanism. The deposit is sent to a designated wallet address displayed in the app.
Any refund policy (for example, “refunded if a case reaches 50+ votes”) is a best-effort rule defined by the Service and may depend on technical constraints, abuse prevention, fraud detection, or operational decisions.
We may refuse, delay, or deny refunds where we believe there is abuse, fraud, manipulation, or violations of these Terms, or where automated verification is not possible.
5. User Content: Cases, Evidence, and Links
You are responsible for all content you submit, including case titles, narratives, categories, and evidence links (“User Content”).
Do not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, invasive of privacy, misleading, fraudulent, or that infringes intellectual property rights.
Evidence often includes third-party links (transactions, screenshots, social posts). We do not control third-party content and do not endorse it. Links may be inaccurate, malicious, or unsafe — use at your own risk.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Spam, game, or manipulate votes or engagement metrics.
- Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation.
- Submit fabricated “evidence” or intentionally misleading claims.
- Attempt to exploit, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Service.
- Use bots or scripts to automate interactions without permission.
- Harass, dox, or share personal data without consent.
7. Community Voting and Outcomes
Votes and outcomes represent community sentiment. They may be wrong, biased, incomplete, or manipulated. You agree not to treat outcomes as factual determinations.
We may apply anti-abuse measures, rate limits, moderation, or scoring changes to improve fairness and integrity.
8. Content Moderation and Removal
We may remove or restrict access to User Content at any time for any reason, including suspected violations of these Terms, legal requests, or safety concerns.
We are not obligated to host or display any content and may suspend or terminate accounts/wallet interactions to protect the Service.
9. No Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that outcomes will be accurate.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meme Court and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, funds, data, goodwill, or reputation arising from your use of the Service.
This includes, without limitation, losses due to blockchain transactions, wallet issues, third-party links, user content, or service downtime.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Meme Court and its operators from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may change these Terms or the Service at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
